10 November 2015

Konstantin Basmanov is becoming the Chairman of the Management Board of Vozrozhdenie Bank effective from November 10, 2015. The Board of Directors appointed him at the meeting of November 6, 2015 given the favourable opinion of the Bank of Russia.

“Vozrozhdenie Bank is one of the brightest players of the Russian financial market with solid track record, transparent corporate governance system, cohesive management team and loyal client base. Its strategic importance was confirmed by participation in the state recapitalisation programme for RUB 6.6 billion that enhanced the bank’s capital base for further development of the key businesses”, noted Konstantin Basmanov. “The change of the main shareholders opens up fresh opportunities for V.Bank. The support of the larger player, Promsvyazbank, will help us enhance positions in all the regions where we operate and expand the product line for our clients.

We already see the synergy from cooperation on a number of areas, using the know-how of each other. With that, we could optimise costs and reduce the service fees for our clients.”

Konstantin Basmanov was born in 1974. He graduated from the Khabarovsk State Economics and Law Academy in 1996. He has been in the banking business for over 20 years, having started his career in Khabarovsk branch of VTB Bank. From 2003 to 2006 he was the head of Branch Network Development Division and then Managing Director on medium-sized clients at VTB Bank. From 2008 to 2015 he was the Deputy Chairman of the Management Board at Promsvyazbank overseeing Small and Medium Business Unit.

He has been the Advisor to the Chairman at Vozrozhdenie Bank from October 1, 2015.

The Board of Directors has thanked Andrey Shalimov for leading the bank through the transition period.

“Andrey Shalimov has supported our bank in these difficult times and has successfully met all the challenges,” commented Otar Margania, the Chairman of the Board of Directors.

In line with the approved action plan, the Board has considered the quarterly reports on risk management, report of the controller over activity at the securities market as well as results of internal control programmes to combat misuse of insider information and deemed the bank’s internal control system compliant with the requirements of the applicable legislation, the regulator and internal documents of the bank.
