In October 2001 held the seminar Banking Support of International Business in Moscow Region. Since the seminar was held under the programme of The European Business Club in Russia, the opening address was given by Mr. Michel Periran, the Chairman of the Banking Committee. The Club unites about 400 major international companies and banks being engaged in business on the territory of Russia and conducting here their operations. At the moment those Russian companies, who have intense business contacts with international companies operating on the Russian market, have been joining the Club. Not long ago, the bank Vozrozdeniye has also become a member of the Club. So, the Bank has assumed to organize this event of the Club.
The Seminar’s guests were members of the Moscow Region Government — the Government Deputy Chairman Nikolay Repchenko, Minister of Foreign Economic Relations Mihkail Amirbegishvili, Deputy Finance Minister of Moscow Region Juriy Ismagilov. In the course of the seminar, presentation of the statistical directory Moscow Region in the year 2000, prepared by Moscow Region Committee of State Statistics, took place. Data, presented in the Directory, have justified the industrial, scientific and agrarian potential of Moscow Region. They manifest the positive dynamics of the Region’s development, growth of production, as well as of foreign and economic activity. All the above has also demonstrated rich investment opportunities of the Region. The seminar’s participants showed real interest in this information, which was also mentioned in the presentation of Deputy Prime Minister Nikolay Repchenko.
Representatives of Bank Vozrozhdeniye holding leading position in the banking community of the Region, presented the results of their operating activities in the Moscow Region and across Russia. The most extensive and diversified part of the Bank’s branch network covers Moscow Region. Nikolay Orlov, Deputy Chairman of Vozrozhdeniye told the seminar’s participants and the guests about the Bank’s plans, a wide range of its products and services and particularly stressed a special customer orientation of the Bank, as well as an individual approach to the customer’s interests and demands. Mark Nakhmanovich, the Bank’s Deputy Chairman singled out the forms of banking services which Vozrozhdeniye is willing to offer its foreign partners operating in Moscow Region. The representative of the major shareholder of Vozrozhdeniye — Сanadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) — Neil Withers, who submitted the results the Vozrozhdeniye achieved in the course of implementing the projects of the World Bank and European Bank of Reconstruction and Development. In particular, he paid attention to the Bank’s compliance with international standards in banking activities, to introduction of advanced and competitive banking products on the Russian financial market.
The seminar’s participants exchanged the views over a wide range of issues related to banking support of businesses across Moscow Region and discussed the new prospects.
