Bank Vozrozhdenie becomes one of the issuers which shares are included into the MICEX Index calculation base. Starting with December 18, 2012, the Index base was expanded from 30 to 50 shares following the strategy of exchange indices integration, that was declared earlier.
“V.Bank is the third bank included into the MICEX Index. I would like to note that the Exchange has quite tough requirements on companies’ corporate governance level, shares’ liquidity and growth prospective, — Chairman of the Management Board, Alexander Dolgopolov, commented on the event. — The fact that the Exchange highly assesses these indicators proves issuers’ stability, providing less volatility of the securities prices. Inclusion of V.Bank ordinary shares into the base of the Index calculation confirms its position as one of the largest issuers in the Russian stock market, indicates investment attractiveness of our securities and allows to expect further increase in trading volumes. We are happy to enjoy investors’ confidence and hope for the extension of our investor base supported by index funds, whose investment portfolios are tied to the calculation base of a stock exchange index (in Russia, it is primarily the MICEX Index)”.
The MICEX Index is a capitalization-weighted (free-float) composite index of the Russian stock market calculated, starting from today, based on prices of the 50 most liquid Russian shares. The rules of calculation of the MICEX Index imply an accurate and transparent procedure for establishing the list of index participants, including quarterly publications of waiting lists that contain securities to be included into the Index during the next review. Among all the shares and Russian Depositary Receipts admitted to trading on the MICEX Stock Exchange, 100 securities of the highest capitalization are selected. In this list, selected are the 60 securities with the largest number of transactions of the regular trading session within the previous 6 months. These shares are ranked (with a conditional serial number assigned) in descending order of aggregate dominance indicator, comprising security capitalization share in aggregate capitalization of the securities selected and share of transaction volume for each security in aggregate volume of transactions with all the selected securities.
The Index Committee of CJSC MICEX Stock Exchange, an advisory body of the leading analysts of the Russian financial market and representatives of the professional community, participates in selecting shares to be included into the MICEX Index.
